QuickNovelQuickNovel's community is a place to share the books you've written with the app. These guidelines cover what you can publish, what you cannot, and what happens when something crosses the line. They sit alongside our Terms of Use, which is the full legal agreement, and our Privacy Policy.
The short version: write the story you want to write. Never write a minor into sexual content. That single rule has no exceptions and no workarounds.
1. Before you publish
Your book needs at least 3 chapters. A book with one or two chapters is not finished enough to be worth a reader's time, and the Publish button stays off until you get there.
You can publish up to 3 new books a day. Re-publishing a book you had already published does not count against that.
You choose how you appear. The first time you publish under your own name, you set an author name, a short bio, and an optional picture. Those are shared across every book you publish under your name, so pick something you are comfortable attaching to all of it. You can also publish anonymously instead, covered in the next section.
Every book is checked before it goes live. The check runs automatically over the whole book, not just the first chapter.
2. Publishing anonymously
Every book has a "Publish anonymously" switch. Turn it on and readers see the book credited to "Anonymous," with no author name, no bio, no picture, and no author page. The book is not linked to anything else you have published, and turning it on does not touch the author profile you use elsewhere.
Anonymous means anonymous to other readers, not to us. We still know which account published the book. We need that to act on reports, to enforce these guidelines, and to let you unpublish or delete your own work later.
Publishing anonymously changes nothing about the rules. The same content standards and the same automated checks apply.
3. What you can publish
Fiction in any genre the app offers, and any combination of genres.
Fiction with mature themes written for adult readers. A book like this carries a "Mature" tag once our automated check flags it, so readers know what they're opening.
Dark, morally gray, and uncomfortable material. Obsession, revenge, villains who stay villains, relationships that are not healthy. Fiction is allowed to go to difficult places.
Books with no mature content at all — a storyline-only book is as welcome in the community as anything else.
4. What is never allowed
Minors in sexual content. Any character who is, is stated to be, or reads as under 18, in any sexual situation, in any framing, including flashbacks, dream sequences, "aged up" versions of younger characters, or characters whose stated age conflicts with how they are described. This is the one rule we enforce without exception.
Real people. Content that sexualizes a real, identifiable person, or non-consensual intimate content about a real person, including celebrities and other public figures, without their consent, or content written to harass, threaten, or defame a specific real person.
Content promoting violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
Content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights.
Work you do not have the rights to publish, including manuscripts you did not write and cover images you do not have the rights to use.
5. How the checks work
Automated moderation runs over the full text of your book before it publishes, and over every review before it posts. If a book fails the check on the rule against sexual content involving minors, it does not go live. Books that trip other flagged categories are tagged "Mature" and published with that label.
Rephrasing to get past the minors rule does not work, and it is not a grey area we are quietly tolerating. Text that trips that rule is logged, together with your account, for safety review. Repeated attempts end the account.
The same check runs when you generate a chapter, so in practice most problems surface while you are writing rather than at publish time.
If a reader has Parental Controls turned on, books tagged "Mature" do not appear in their feeds and cannot be opened on their account.
6. Reports and blocking
Any reader can report a book or a review. Reports go to us for review.
A book that collects enough reports is hidden from the community automatically while we look at it. That is a safety measure, not a verdict, and a book hidden this way goes back up if the reports do not hold up.
Any reader can also block an author. Blocking is personal: it hides that author's work from you without affecting anyone else's view of it.
Please do not use reports to express that you disliked a book. Report content that breaks these guidelines. A book being darker than you expected is what genre labels and the Mature tag are for.
7. Editing a book after you publish it
To edit a published book, unpublish it first, make your changes, and publish it again.
Unpublishing keeps everything the book has earned. Views, ratings, and reviews are preserved and come back with it when you re-publish, so fixing a typo or adding a chapter costs you nothing.
While a book is unpublished it is invisible to other readers but still fully yours in your library.
8. What happens when something breaks the rules
Depending on what happened, we may remove the book from the community, delete a review, hide content pending review, or suspend or terminate the account. We can do any of that with or without advance notice.
Attempting to publish sexual content involving a minor results in immediate termination, with no refund of any unused subscription time.
We make these judgments reasonably, but we make them. If you think we got one wrong, write to us.
9. Questions
If you are not sure whether something you want to publish is allowed, ask before you publish it. If you want to report a problem the in-app report did not cover, tell us.
